Here comes the cold! To protect your valuable system from the freezing weather this weekend make sure to shut off the water supply to the sprinkler system then go to your controller and press “manual start”. This will drain some of the water from the exposed pipes outside, don’t forget to turn the controller dial to “Off” after a minute or so. If you have a backflow device on the outside of your home, it might be a good idea to wrap an old blanket around it to give a little extra buffer from the cold!
